How do I add an expense?
Go to the Actions tab and tap Add Item. Fill in the item name, price, and category. You can also add a photo by tapping the camera icon. Tap "Save" when done.
How does purchase lifecycle tracking work?
Every item in Consumii follows a lifecycle: planned → purchased → sold / disposed / renounced. You can mark items as wants or needs, move them between stages, and log sales to see how much value you recovered. This gives you a complete picture of every purchase decision.
How does Spotlight search work with Consumii?
Consumii indexes your items for iOS Spotlight search. Swipe down on your home screen and type a product name — matching items from Consumii appear in the results. Tap to jump directly to the item. This works without opening the app first. Spotlight indexing happens automatically as you add items.
What are "Work Hours" and how do I set my hourly wage?
Work Hours converts every purchase price into hours of work based on your hourly wage. Go to Profile > Hourly Income and enter your after-tax hourly rate. Consumii then shows the work-time equivalent next to every item's price. For example, if you earn €25/hour, a €75 purchase shows as "3.0 hours." This helps you evaluate purchases in terms of your personal time, not just abstract numbers.
How does the Want vs Need feature work?
When you add any item, you classify it as a "want" (something you desire but don't strictly need) or a "need" (something essential). Over time, Consumii builds a breakdown of your want-to-need spending ratio in Analytics. There's no judgment — just visibility. Many users find that simply being asked the question before each purchase changes their behavior.
What are purchase reflections?
At 30, 90, 180, and 360 days after a purchase, Consumii prompts you with a quick check-in: Are you still happy with it? Would you buy it again? These reflections help you build better spending habits over time by learning from past decisions.
Is my data really private?
Yes. Consumii stores all data locally on your device using SwiftData. We have no servers and collect zero data. You can verify this by checking your device's network activity in iOS Settings. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I set up widgets?
Long-press on your home screen, tap the + button in the top-left corner, and search for "Consumii". Choose from 15 widget types including Budgets, Savings, Streaks, Impulse Tracking, and more — in small, medium, and large sizes. Widgets update automatically with your latest data.
How does iCloud sync work?
iCloud sync keeps your data in sync across all your Apple devices. Enable it in Settings within the app. Your data goes directly to your iCloud account — we never see or access it. You can disable sync at any time without losing local data.
What is included in Pro?
All features are included in the free version. Consumii Pro removes the 40-item limit, giving you unlimited item tracking. Unlock Pro with a one-time purchase of €9.99.
Can I get a refund?
Pro is a one-time purchase. For refunds, contact Apple Support.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Profile > Settings > Delete All Data. This permanently removes all expense items, impulse logs, achievements, and settings from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, data will also be removed from iCloud. This action cannot be undone.
The app is not working correctly. What should I do?
Try these steps: (1) Force-quit and reopen the app. (2) Restart your device. (3) Make sure you're running the latest version from the App Store. (4) If the issue persists, contact us at the email below with a description of the problem and your iOS version.
